On Feburary 29, the KC Rising team will host an event for the regional media, business and civic community to provide an update on the effort to develop a comprehensive long-range regional business plan. We are eager to share tangible results of the incredible focus and drive KC Rising’s 200+ volunteers have shown over more than a year of discussion, planning, benchmarking and analyzing. Here’s a sneak peek into what you can expect to hear:
- Plans to build capacity and nationally position specific industry sector focus areas that will maximize future economic growth opportunities in the KC region.
- New programs and initiatives that will drive entrepreneurial growth, bolster our region’s talent pipeline and increase exports.
- An outline of specific strategies that will ensure the KC Rising plan is transparent, accountable and flexible.
Each KC Rising work group operated at its own pace using various tactics to gather information and make its recommendations. The results to date are at varying levels of development and completion, and our message on Feb. 29 will emphasize that we are putting a long term strategy in place that will continue to develop over time.
