Community embraces KC Rising effort

Since the launch of KC Rising on Nov. 11, 2014 business and civic leaders have been busy laying important groundwork to establish measurable goals and benchmarks for success. A Steering Committee is fully seated and co-chairs for the three Work Groups are nearly confirmed.

The Nov. 11 launch of KC Rising established a long-term vision for a more prosperous KC region.
A group of more than 80 regional KC business, civic and elected leaders packed into Union Station’s Arthur Stilwell Room to support the launch of KC Rising.
KC Rising Co-Chair Scott Smith detailed the three Work Groups that will focus on key economic drivers for the region’s future.
Mayor Sly James joined a number of regional elected officials in showing their support and appreciation of the business community’s focus on regional job growth.
