KC Rising was very proud to participate in the announcement that Kansas City has been named to the Global Cities Exchange program sponsored by the The Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase. Kansas City is one of eight metropolitan areas selected to be part of a final group of 24 metros focused on expanding their export markets.

The global export plans developed through the Global Cities effort will be integrated into the Globally Competitive Sectors work of KC Rising and will be a critical piece in its success.

An effective export plan will develop programs and actions that can aid small and medium sized firms in expanding markets beyond U.S. borders and further boost the region’s economy.

The KC Rising partnership with the Chamber’s World Trade Center for this initiative is an example of collaboration that works to the advantage of all the partners and the community by bringing together the right mix of organizational expertise, shared mission and opportunities to leverage the strategies developed.
